TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – As efforts continued to sort out damage from Hurricane Idalia, regulators on Sept. 1, 2023, approved proposals by seven private insurers to pull as many as 202,000 policies from the state’s Citizens Property Insurance Corp.

A Recession Doesn't Equal A Housing Crisis

If you're following the news, you might be wondering how the housing market could be impacted by a recession. Understanding historical data and trends can provide valuable insights into what might happen in such situations.

A recession is a significant and prolonged economic decline, typically characterized by two consecutive quarters of negative gross domestic product (GDP) growth. It's important to note that recessions don't usually occur out of nowhere; they can often be predicted by tracking various economic indicators such as payrolls, industrial production, and retail sales, among others. If that’s you, don’t panic! We’ve outlined the top five reasons a home doesn’t sell—and action steps you can take to overcome each of these issues.

A New Study Shows One in Ten Owners has been Scammed By a Contractor

Amidst the growing demand for home improvement projects, such as kitchen and bath remodels, and outdoor renovations, it has become increasingly important to be vigilant against contractor scams. Recent reports indicate that 1 in 10 Americans have fallen victim to these deceptive schemes, resulting in significant financial losses averaging around $2,426 per case.

To protect yourself from contractor scams, Richard Eimers from Beach Road Realty, serving the Destin, 30a, and Inlet Beach areas, advises following these comprehensive tips provided by a Nationwide Provider:
